Hypnotherapy offers a relaxed and focused state of consciousness where your mind becomes highly receptive to positive suggestions. In this state, your subconscious mind becomes more accessible, allowing us to work together to address various issues. It's a collaborative process where you remain in control, tapping into your inner resources to make desired changes, whether it's overcoming habits, managing stress, or enhancing well-being. Think of it as a tool to unlock your own inner potential and achieve your goals effectively and naturally. Together, we'll harness the power of your mind for positive transformation.

KidsMatters® - specialist hypnotherapy services for children and young people
Hypnotherapy is a completely safe way of working with children, and simply taps into their best qualities. There’s no mind control and no loss of control, and your child will emerge feeling stronger and more empowered to deal with any issues which have been holding them back. As a certified KidsMatters® practitioner, I have invested in a training programme, which enables me to tailor my treatment to the cognitive development of your child. I'm also a member of the International Society of Paediatric Hypnotherapists and have a Diploma in Paediatric Hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy can help with pretty much anything which is preventing your child from living the fullest, happiest life they can – from lack of self-esteem, to bedwetting, to bad habits and self-destructive behaviours.
The types of suggestions I offer your child are based on what you – and they– have told us they want to work on to achieve a happier and more fulfilled life. In addition to positive suggestions, I also encourage your child to access their inner skills and resources and to be able to quickly access these skills when they need to by providing them with effective tools to do so.
I have undertaken CPD training working with and working therapeutically with neurodivergent children and young adults.

Menopause
As a trained HypnoMenopause® Practitioner, and Menopause Wellness Practitioner, I provide a holistic, complementary, alternative and evidence-based approach for women who are experiencing menopausal symptoms – at whatever stage they are at in their journey.
HypnoMenopause® acknowledges the significance of menopause as a transitional phase in our life, it can work alongside other treatments, such as HRT, diet, exercise and so on. It’s also of benefit to those unable to take HRT.
For some women, this transitional phase is characterised hot flushes and night sweats, fatigue, aches and pains, sleep problems and a range of other symptoms which make it hard to function. It's also a time when women may be struggling with life pressures and a shifting sense of their own identity. HypnoMenopause® combines hypnosis, mindfulness and CBT to help women manage their experience in a completely natural way. In clinical trials, hypnotherapy has been shown to alleviate hot flushes by up to an incredible 74%, in addition to helping mood, sleep and sexual function.
The first step in our work together is a free consultation, by phone, during which I will answer any questions you have and establish whether HypnoMenopause® is the right approach for you. Following that, you will usually have up to five sessions, during which you will work on different aspects of your experience. During a session, I will talk you into a relaxed, focused state and use a combination of guided meditations and powerful therapeutic tools including NLP, mindfulness and CBT to help you create your desired changes.
How many sessions you require will be individual to your requirements – menopause is a personal journey and one size fits no-one. Typically we would expect around five sessions and this would all be agreed up front in your initial consultation. You’re supported with resources – from recordings to workbooks and invited to join a unique virtual Menopause Café to continue to build on the network of women who are empowering confidence through change.
HypnoMenopause® was featured in Psychologies Magazine. Following a five session programme, journalist Clem Felix wrote, “I feel energetic and am looking forward to the future with real excitement for the first time in years. For now, at least, I feel a long way from needing HRT”. HypnoMenopause® creator, Dr. Claire Jack, writes regularly about the menopausal transition for online magazine, Psychology Today as one of their in-house experts.
I am very happy to offer you a free phone consultation, during which we can discuss what you’re looking for from The HypnoMenopause® Approach and how I can best help you. In the meantime, please check out the Q&A section below which answers some of the most commonly asked questions about HypnoMenopause®.
How can hypnotherapy help me with hot flushes/ insomnia/ brain fog?
We often think of the brain and body as being separate, when, in fact, they're completely connected. Everything we think impacts us at a physical level (take a moment to think of something which causes you fear, and notice how your body reacts). Hypnotherapy can help us connect with our body at a deep level and, in addition to changing the messages we offer ourselves, visualisation is linked to physical changes at the cellular level. Whatever physical menopausal symptoms you have, increasing your mind-body awareness has the capacity to help.
Is it guaranteed to help me?
As with any type of therapy, hypnotherapy isn't guaranteed to help. However, if you are genuinely motivated to create change and are open to exploring hypnotherapy, like many clients it is likely you will see an improvement in your symptoms.
I’m on HRT. Is that a problem?
If you're on HRT and wish to continue taking it, it's perfectly ok to use hypnotherapy alongside your medication as a complementary approach.
Can this be used as an alternative to HRT?
Everyone's experience is unique and whilst some women stay on HRT during their HypnoMenopause® Programme, others seek it out as an alternative therapy. In clinical trials, hypnotherapy has been shown to have an effectiveness rate of up to 74% in the treatment of hot flushes - a similar success rate to HRT. It also helps with mood, sleep and sexual function so, for some women, it provides an effective alternative to medication.
Does it matter what stage of menopause I’m at?
HypnoMenopause® is designed to work with women, no matter whether they're perimenopausal or post menopausal. Menopausal symptoms can persist for several years and this programme can help you, whatever your experience.
I don’t have hot flushes. I’m just a bit down…
Some women seek out HypnoMenopause® because of physical symptoms, some women seek out hypnotherapy because of mood disorders and some women seek it out simply because they're feeling stressed, fatigued and overwhelmed. HypnoMenopause® is designed to help with everything from coping with mid-life career stress, to empty-nest syndrome to hot flushes.

Common questions
Here are some answers to some of the most common questions I get asked.
Is everyone suitable for treatment?
Most people can be hypnotised however you may have a medical condition(s), which may mean that hypnotherapy is not a suitable option at this point. All this can be discussed in our initial free consultation, and in some cases, if you agree, I can write to your GP for permission to proceed with hypnotherapy or can refer you to a healthcare practitioner to explore other options.
I offer hypnotherapy for both adults and children. I am a certified KidsMatters® practitioner, and have am a certified paediatric hypnotherapist, which means I've undertaken specialist training adapatable to children from ages 5 through to 15. I tailor sessions apropriately to their congitive development ability. I'm also trained in working with and therapeutically with neurodivergent children and young adults.
How much does it cost?
Please view my Fees page
How long does it take?
Typically an adult individual session will last anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour,, for children it will be considerably less, but we let the child direct this. For Group sessions typically we do one hour sessions. In terms of treatment and how many sessions - that's all down to you and what you are seeking to change. I always discuss this upfront with you and explain my fees.
Are sessions confidential?
Think of our therapy sessions like a safe with a combination lock on it. Everything you share will go into the safe and only you and I know the combination for the lock. Nobody else can open the safe or know what’s inside unless you give consent for me to share it with them (unless there was a risk to life – the client or other person(s)).
As a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy I am required to keep adult records for eight years after which time I would securely dispose of them by personally shredding them or by using a licensed firm to do this. For children up to age 16, I am required to keep records up to the age of 25 when last seen as a client, and for 17 years old clients, records must be kept until age 26 from last seen. The terms of my insurance require me to keep all records for seven years.
Sessions are a safe place where your thoughts, emotions and experiences are securely stored, and they remain private. This is essential because it allows you to express, if you choose to, your deepest thoughts and feelings freely and openly, without worrying about them being revealed to others. And remember you only share what you want to share – you are always in control of what you share. When you are confident that our sessions are confidential, it allows me to provide the best care I can for you.
Will you make me do or say something that I don't want to?
No, you remain in control at all times. Hypnosis is a relaxed state but you are fully conscious and play an active role in therapy.
Do you guarantee success?
Hypnotherapy is not a ‘silver bullet’ and it’s very much tailored to an individual with many different factors contributing to either its success or failure. Just because something worked for one client, would not mean the same approach would work for another. You play an equal role in the treatment and we work together towards your realistic, desired outcome.
Do you offer hynosis for children?
While I offer child hypnotherapy for ages five to 15, every child is different and therefore sessions are adapted to their individual needs. As a KidsMatters® practitioner and certified in Paediatric Hypnotherapy through the International Society of Paediatric Hypnotherapists, I have a range of tools, techniques and experience that can be deployed to help even the most distracted child. I also offer a proven training for parents/carers called Goulding Method® SleepTalk, which can empower parents to feel more confident while at the same time build resilience and address behavioural challenges in their child(ren) - find out more here.
